The story of XCOM Chimera Squad takes place 5 years after XCOM 2, in which you can play with 11 agents, each with their own unique abilities and maps. The game also includes a new mode called Breach Mode in which you place agents to attack at entry points. There is no permanent death in this version, but the Ironman difficulty level, which is the hardest level of XCOM 2, has returned.
